Vendicari Nature Reserve: located near the charming city of Siracusa, between the pretty seaside resorts of Noto and Marzamemi, Vendicari is a mixture of lagoons, sand dunes, rocky and sandy beaches, the perfect place to rest and meet the beauty of the nature. It is home of a rich variety of flora and fauna, such as migrating birds like flamingos, storks and herons.
Calamosche: this enchanting place is located in the Vendicari Nature Reserve, near the ancient archaeological site of Eloro. In 2005 Calamosche won the title of Best Italian Beach thanks to its crystalline waters. This small beach is positioned between two rocky headlands offering an unexpected beauty.
Eraclea Minoa: once a Greek settlement, Eraclea Minoa is now one of the prettiest and lesser known beaches of Sicily. Torre Salsa Nature Reserve: situated midway between Sciacca and Agrigento, this nature reserve occupies an area of over 760 hectares and around 6km of gorgeous golden sandy beach. It is managed by the WWF to proctect the colony of loggerhead sea turtles that breeds in this suggestive place. The bay is covered by lush vegetation with tropical flowers and white rocks. Its transparent blue waters are rich of marine life, which make this place very popular among scuba divers and snorkeling amateurs.
