Every year the Greek Theater of Syracuse lives up again with the classical plays. Ancient Greek tragedies come back to life on the stage in a breathtaking scenario giving unforgettable experiences for the public. Art and culture enthusiasts will enjoy the mystical atmospere of the stone theater and the emotions that the ancient plays can give.
The National Institute of Ancient Drama (INDA) since 1914 has revitalized the tradition of classical performances at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse: the festival celebrates indeed its 53rd edition this year but the foundation has been working for more than a century now to gain year by year the attention and interest of the general public. Today the plays are attended everyday by hundreds of people and the festival has become one of the most important event of Sicilian Spring and Summer.

2017 edition of INDA’s Cycle of classical place in Syracuse will start on May 6, while the last play will be on stage on July 8. The plays that will be performed are two tragedies and a comedy: Aeschylus’ Seven against Thebes, The Phoenician Women by Euripides and The Frogs by Aristophanes.
